“Rare to find a good psychiatrist who takes insurance. Very nice guy, doesn't play games. The place does have a 48 hour cancellation policy or they might charge you. That's better than paying out of pocket for a decent doctor like I was doing. Even out of pocket doctors are not always good. Only had the first visit with him but like him a lot and look forward to working with him. Good trust, takes your word for things.”

Getting to know Dr. Richard Rise

Dr. Richard Rise has built a successful career as a psychiatrist over the past 30 years. He earned his medical degree from Universidad Aut?noma de Guadalajara Facultad de Medicina in Guadalajara and completed his residency at Maimonides Medical Center. Throughout his career, he has worked in a variety of treatment settings, gaining extensive experience in prescribing medications, providing therapy, counseling, and coaching. Dr. Rise takes an individualized approach to treatment, recognizing each person as unique and deserving of love, respect, and acceptance. Compassionate and non-judgmental, he truly enjoys helping others. He often combines medication management (when indicated) with psychotherapy to address all facets of the individual. Dr. Rise believes that everyone should be treated according to their unique needs. He spent most of his career in private practice until retiring in 2014. During the next three and a half years, he devoted time to reading, studying, traveling, and being with loved ones. In 2018, he accepted a position as a consultant overseeing ketamine infusion therapy for treatment-resistant depression. When the COVID-19 pandemic began in March 2020, Dr. Rise was invited to assist a local psychiatric hospital in managing the unique and often severe consequences of the virus. This experience provided valuable personal growth and allowed him to improve the quality of life for many patients. After two years at the hospital, Dr. Rise joined Talkiatry to continue delivering high-quality psychiatric care within a loving, supportive, creative, and collaborative environment.

Because we accept insurance, we can reduce out-of-pocket expenses and still offer high-quality care. You may not have any cost related to your visit with us, depending upon your insurance plan. Most patients pay a small copay per visit, subject to any deductible or coinsurance that your health plan has. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services determines appropriate billing guidelines. These guidelines depend on the length of the visit and the complexity and severity of your diagnosis. For this reason, we need to wait until after the visit for the final determination. We then submit the claim to your insurance company. The charges are calculated based upon pre-negotiated prices with your insurance company. Your insurance company will then determine what amount, if any, is your responsibility per your insurance plan.

Doctor took my input and mapped out a course correction. It’s been working out.
I couldn't get through the website to this phone practice. Totally unprofessional and dangerous to a psychiatric patient in a crisis. I had hope for this visit. Now I am left hopelessly until I can figure out my next step. Do NOT hope for help from this guy. I should sue him.
