Getting to know Richardo Boyd
Thank you for taking the time to read my bio. I have worked in healthcare since January 2006. I believe healthcare is a calling, and one of my life missions is to positively impact others. I chose psychiatry because, during high school, I realized there were few subjects I could apply to everyday life. Everything starts with the mind, as the famous quote states, “I think therefore I am.” First come thoughts, whether conscious or unconscious, then feelings, i.e., emotions, and then actions. Thoughts, feelings, and actions shape our daily lives and must be in harmony—or as close to balance as possible—for us to live up to our potential. I began my career as a certified nurse assistant, which taught me the importance of hard work to provide for myself and my family. Later, as a registered nurse in the hospital setting, I cared for patients recovering from heart attacks, strokes, amputations, blindness, diabetes, sickle cell disease, cancer, and car accidents. This experience deepened my understanding that life is fragile and that it is important to live each day to the fullest. I have also worked as a family nurse practitioner in primary care and urgent care, where I treated conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, back pain, hypothyroidism, common skin conditions, acid reflux, and irritable bowel syndrome. This broad experience informs my holistic approach to patient care. I hold a Master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Florida International University. I specialize in psychiatry and see patients 18 years and older. Initial visits last one hour, and follow-up appointments are 30 minutes. This schedule reduces the need to rush and allows us to be as comprehensive as possible, providing the best mental health care. My goal is to work with you to establish a positive, collaborative relationship where I recommend various treatments tailored to help you become the best version of yourself.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

I'm 52 and have always been told to rub dirt on any wound including an emotional one and to just keep trucking. After years of either not being able to get appoints quick enough or just being told "I won't help someone that smokes marijuana" I gave up and kept going back to the streets.
