Meet Dr. Robert Finney, a Board-Certified Dermatologist, Fellowship-Trained in Hair Restoration and Aesthetics. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Dr. Finney completed his undergraduate and medical degrees at Pennsylvania State University. He completed his internship and dermatology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA where he served as chief resident during his final year. Following his residency, he completed an advanced fellowship in aesthetics and hair restoration with renowned hair surgeon Dr. Marc Avram in NYC.
Dr. Finney approaches aesthetics holistically, taking into account not only patients' current concerns, but also planning for the future. He takes pride in establishing longitudinal relationships, educating his patients on the 3D-nature of aging, and ultimately ensuring a future of aging gracefully. His goal is to ensure that his patients look refreshed, never “done”.
As a hair expert, Dr. Finney continues to push the standard of care, and innovates to create cutting edge, individualized treatment plans. He has been treating his own genetic hair loss since his mid-20s; therefore, he is truly able to view each treatment through the lens of the patient and provider. This is what led him to create his ScalpStim Pro treatments: efficacious, customized treatments for his patients.
Dr. Finney frequently lectures both nationally and internationally on hair loss and is regularly sought out as an author of peer-reviewed articles, book chapters and major media outlets to share his expertise. Dr. Finney takes pride in helping mold the next generation of dermatologists as a clinical assistant professor at Mount Sinai. When not seeing patients, Dr. Finney loves reading historical non-fiction and staying active playing ice hockey.

Dr was very nice, office was clean, staff was friendly. Wait was about 30-40 minutes. Was diagnosed quickly but didn’t quite agree with his proposed care plan, which made me feel not 100% heard, but I appreciated he made some alternative suggestions. Will probably go back and see if this treatment plan actually works. He definitely listened more and spent more time with me than other derms I’ve recently seen.

As another healthcare professional, I know that dermatologists as a whole can seem rushed or harried. Dr. Finney has great communication and presence - reviewing the visit agenda before getting started and discussing patient education tips along the way. His office is efficient, has a fresh design including beautiful local photos in the exam rooms that make you feel at home. Quick procedure was done and overall an efficient, great visit.

Honestly such a great experience! Dr. Finney was knowledgeable, professional and kind. He listened to what I had to say, provided a clear treatment plan, and answered any & all of my questions. The office is very clean and they’re up to date with the latest medical technology.
Huge plus that the doctor I booked was the doctor that I saw. Additionally, he was on time and my prescription was sent to my preferred pharmacy right away.
No complaints from me, and I would recommend this office to anyone wanting a great dermatologist.

I went to see Dr Finney to get an injection for my cyst. Normally a cyst that size on my chin would linger for couple weeks, but with the injection it disappeared in 2 days. Amazing! We also discussed the usage of tretinion very thoroughly. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Even though they said they take my insurance (confirmed with insurance company), they didn't take my insurance for the first consultation and charged me a very expensive full price consultation.
