Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
AZ
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing psychiatric care to adults experiencing a range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and other psychiatric conditions. I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from UCLA and completed advanced graduate training in psychiatric mental health care. My approach is collaborative, thoughtful, and individualized. I believe medication management works best when patients understand their treatment options and have an active voice in decisions about their care. Rather than focusing only on symptoms or diagnoses, I take time to understand how those symptoms are affecting your daily life, relationships, work, and overall functioning. During an initial appointment, we will review your current concerns, psychiatric and medical history, previous treatments, medications, and your goals for care. Together, we will develop a treatment plan based on your individual needs and preferences. I offer weekend appointments, which can make psychiatric care more accessible for patients with busy weekday schedules. Outside of psychiatry, I am also a classically trained flutist. I earned my Bachelor of Music from The Juilliard School and my Master of Music from Rice University, and I continue to perform as an orchestral musician. My background in both healthcare and music has shaped the way I approach my work—with careful listening, attention to detail, and respect for each person's individual experience. My goal is to create an environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, discussing concerns about medications, and participating openly in your treatment. Whether you are beginning psychiatric treatment for the first time or looking for a new approach after previous treatment, I aim to provide evidence-based care that is clinically thorough, approachable, and collaborative.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I want you to feel heard, understood, and actively involved in your care. My style is warm, collaborative, and straightforward. I take the time to understand not only your symptoms, but also how they are affecting your relationships, work, daily life, and overall sense of well-being. I believe psychiatric treatment should be a conversation, not simply a prescription. I will explain my recommendations, discuss the potential benefits and drawbacks of different options, and make sure you have the opportunity to ask questions and express your preferences. If something isn't working for you, I want to know so that we can adjust our approach together. You can expect thoughtful, evidence-based care tailored to you as an individual. My goal is to help you find a treatment plan that not only improves symptoms, but helps you function better and feel more like yourself.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first visit is an opportunity for me to get to know you and understand what has brought you to care. We will talk about your current concerns, symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, previous treatments and medications, and what you hope to improve. I also consider factors such as sleep, relationships, work, stressors, and daily functioning to develop a complete picture rather than focusing on a diagnosis alone. From there, we will discuss my assessment and treatment recommendations together. If medication is appropriate, I will explain the options, expected benefits, potential side effects, and alternatives so that you can make an informed decision about your care. Follow-up visits focus on how you are feeling, how well treatment is working, any concerns or side effects, and whether adjustments may be helpful. While my practice primarily focuses on psychiatric evaluation and medication management, I incorporate supportive and therapeutic conversations when appropriate. My goal is for each visit to feel collaborative, comfortable, and focused on helping you make meaningful progress.
