About Dr. Robert J. Cornell

Dr. Cornell is a board-certified urologist practicing in downtown Houston, Texas. He completed his residency training at Baylor College of Medicine in the Scott Department of Urology and his general surgical training in the Michael E. DeBakey Department of General Surgery.
While his practice cares for the general urologic needs of both men and women, his specialty is in the treatment of advanced erectile dysfunction and male urinary incontinence following prostate cancer treatment. Dr. Cornell is a nationally-recognized expert in the placement of both the inflatable penile prosthesis and the artificial urinary sphincter - surgical solutions to these troublesome urologic problems.
Additionally, his office is specifically equipped to diagnose and treat voiding symptoms caused by prostatic enlargement (BPH) with digital cystoscopy and office prostate thermotherapy (Prostiva), to perform office vasectomy, urodynamic assessment of male and female urinary incontinence and severe urinary urgency and is the only office in metro-Houston that offers biofeedback therapy for urinary symptoms that persist on medication.

I would recommend no other doctor to perform a vasectomy other than Dr. Cornell. He was very pleasant during my husband's procedure. I was allowed to remain in the room during the quick operation, and my husband was made quite comfortable.

Doctor Cornell was prompt, knowledgeable and decisive. He answered my specific questions and we discussed viable options for my needs.
The only negative was the building and parking garage. These are both run-down in appearance and downtown Houston is a challenge to get in and out of.

Has a good bedside manner and small hands important for DRE.
Listened to my symptoms, suggested what may be needed after further testing and blood test. Scheduled further testing, prescribed meds.
If any negatives was disappointed in the extensive ZocDoc info I filled out was not available at check in. Would except less communications with me and more with the doctor's office.

Dr. Cornell is a great doctor and is an amazing person!! The only thing that needs some serious improvement is the waiting time. Maybe the scheduling needs to be adjusted so you don't have to wait soo long to see him. Besides the issue with the wait time Dr.Cornell is a wonderful doctor..
