Dr. Robert Marantz, MD

Psychiatrist
NY
I am a board certified psychiatrist and have been helping individuals and couples for over 30 years. I use my extensive experience in psychotherapy and psychopharmacology to treat people with a wide variety of problems, including depression, anxiety, addiction, attentional problems, sleep and relationship issues. In addition to working with medication when indicated, I also practice traditional psychotherapy. I did my medical training at the University of Chicago and psychiatric residency at Mr. Sinai Hospital in New York where I was a chief resident. I have continued to broaden my knowledge with further training in cognitive behavioral treatments, sex and relationship therapies, family systems therapy, and new approaches to trauma treatment. I have a regular meditation practice which informs my work as well. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere within which to help you look at your particular situation in a new way, and to help you to develop the skills to make the changes you want in your life and relationships. If depression or anxiety are standing in the way of making these changes, I will discuss medication treatment with you; oftentimes medication can be tremendously helpful on the path to making your life better. In order to answer questions and ensure that I am the best person to meet your needs, I will call you before I confirm your initial visit.
