The amount of time he took with me I feel was extraordinary! He wasn’t rushed, he made sure I understood his thoughts and had no further questions before my appt was over. He did a great job with the injections (even tho it hurt like heck!) but I got some instant relief!

About Dr. Robert Matteucci
Relieving patients’ pain so they can enjoy more of life’s activities drives Dr. Robert Matteucci’s mission as a foot and ankle specialist. Specializing in a specific medical area to help others was a major reason he chose this path.
“Ours was a medical family. I wanted to focus on one area to work on more complicated cases,” Matteucci said, referencing his surgical residency and foot and ankle practice since 2004. “I’m interested in helping people and getting to know them.”
Matteucci earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, completed his surgical residency at Midwestern Regional Medical Center, and holds a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University. Over time, patients began coming to Great Midwest Foot and Ankle with ongoing pain not effectively treated elsewhere. “I want to relieve patients’ pain so they can enjoy life activities. People were coming to us from other practices, thinking they must live with chronic pain. That’s not the case. It’s a great feeling to find a path to relieve their pain through a personalized touch,” he said.
He recalled a woman who came to him after compound-fracturing her ankle on her 60th birthday. Those complex injuries are toughest for Matteucci. “You can’t always plan for complex or traumatic injury,” he said. Helping patients in those cases provides greater satisfaction due to the complexity.
Matteucci and fellow practitioner Dr. Eric Hillmann pride Great Midwest on thorough service. “We look at all parts of the foot and ankle to determine what is CAUSING the pain—the back, middle, or front of the foot. It’s a comprehensive approach to find the root of the pain,” he said.
The approach is personalized. “We spend extra time to get to know our patients. People coming to us tend not to have been satisfied elsewhere, and we dig beyond the superficial to help alleviate their suffering,” Matteucci observed.

Really good place!!! The first time I went I felt I sprained both ankles and the right one was taken care of and is good!!! I went back for a follow up but didn’t need it my ankle still so good! The office staff were great. I highly recommend.

Coming here was the best decision I have made. Dr M completely changed my life. I had a very painful foot which made walking nearly impossible. After several surgeries, I am happy to report, I have no pain in my foot. I highly recommend Dr M and his staff. He changed my life.
