Dr. Robin Dean is an attentive, compassionate psychologist treating patients in Washington, D.C., and the surrounding communities. Her goal is to help her patients uncover what may be preventing them from achieving greater satisfaction from work and relationships. Dr. Dean operates out of her office above the south entrance to the Dupont Circle Metro Station.
Dr. Dean attended Georgetown University for her undergraduate degree, graduating cum laude. She completed a law degree at the University of Texas School of Law, then pursued her psychology degree after a career as an attorney. Dr. Dean received her Psy.D at the George Washington University Center for Professional Psychology and completed adult psychoanalytic training with the Contemporary Freudian Society. She is also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Clinical Psychology at The George Washington University.
Patients visiting Dr. Dean can receive a full range of psychotherapy services. She provides relationship counseling, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and psychoanalysis. Treatment is available for issues including anxiety, depression, pregnancy loss and infertility, grief, trauma, and career or academic difficulties. Dr. Dean also enjoys working with international patients of different cultural backgrounds.

She certainly had a great location and wonderful atmosphere. At times, it was really awkward and silent and it felt like she did not know how to advise me and all of the advice mentioned were things I already deducted and knew.

I really enjoyed meeting with Dr. Dean. She's a great listener and quickly identified a lot of connections I was previously unable to make within our first appointment. She is professional and exudes a lot of calmness and confidence, and I felt very comfortable and reassured speaking with her. She was also very responsive and is easy to get in touch with. Definitely recommend her!

I think Dr. Dean is a great doctor who is very caring and eager to help. I've been reluctant in seeking counseling because I wasn't sure my issues were that big of a deal and I didn't want to be judged. I'm so happy I found her and that she is so accommodating scheduling-wise. I recommend her 100%!
