About Dr. Rodolfo Chirinos

Dr. Rodolfo Chirinos is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He graduated with honors from the University of Miami with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology and immunology. Dr. Chirinos earned his medical degree from Universidad Central del Caribe in Puerto Rico, graduating magna cum laude and ranking in the top five percent of his class, being inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He subsequently completed an internship in internal medicine at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Chirinos completed his dermatology residency in Washington D.C., at Georgetown University Hospital/Washington Hospital Center, where he was honored to serve as chief resident during his final year of residency. He completed a National Institutes of Health-sponsored fellowship in cutaneous oncology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Department of Dermatology, and a fellowship in melanoma research at the Melanoma Center/Washington Cancer Institute in Washington, D.C. During his time there, the melanoma team was the recipient of the President’s Patients First Award for outstanding delivery and coordination of care. Dr. Chirinos is passionate about helping patients improve their quality of life through the treatment of skin conditions. One of his primary goals as a dermatologist is the earliest and most accurate diagnosis of skin cancers-including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and particularly malignant melanoma. He is especially concerned with the overall increase in the number of these types of skin cancers, particularly within Florida’s sunny and active lifestyle, and is committed to preventing the spread of these tumors through early detection and treatment. For this reason, he recommends skin cancer screening examinations for all new patients.
