About Dr. Ronald Kaleya

Dr. Ronald Kaleya specializes in the treatment of pancreas, stomach, and colorectal cancer, as well as gastrointestinal surgery. He recently joined the Maimonides surgical family to enhance our expanded programs in pancreatic, gastric, colorectal, and hepatobiliary oncologic surgery. This program includes new surgical techniques to treat locally advanced and recurrent cancers of the pancreas, stomach, liver, and colon. Dr. Kaleya is board certified in General Surgery and completed his residency at Montefiore Medical Center. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Cornell University and completed a fellowship in Surgical Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He previously served as Professor of Clinical Surgery and Vice Chairman at Montefiore Medical Center–Albert Einstein College of Medicine until 2008 and also worked at Westchester Medical Center–New York Medical College. Dr. Kaleya has been listed in Castle Connolly's Top Doctors List every year since its inception. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and abstracts, and has participated in translational and bench research focused on extracellular matrix and tumor angiogenesis.
