Getting to know Ronald McCaslin

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to turn, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to figure this out by yourself. I’m Ron, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) providing thoughtful, compassionate psychiatric care through telehealth. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, trauma-related symptoms, perinatal and postpartum mental health concerns, stress, and major life transitions. My approach is collaborative and individualized, so we’ll take time to understand what’s been weighing on you and develop a treatment plan that feels realistic, supportive, and aligned with your goals. Medication management with me is never rushed or one-size-fits-all. I prioritize education, shared decision-making, and minimizing side effects, while respecting your preferences and comfort level. I believe you deserve to understand your options and feel confident in the choices you’re making about your mental health. As a nurse practitioner, I take a holistic view of care, considering the whole person — mind, body, and life circumstances — not just a list of symptoms. I strive to create a calm, nonjudgmental virtual space where you can speak openly and feel truly heard, whether you’re starting treatment for the first time or looking for a more supportive approach to ongoing care. Reaching out for help can feel like the hardest step. My goal is to make that step feel a little lighter by offering care that is accessible, respectful, and genuinely human. If you’re ready to begin, I’d be honored to work with you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

New clients often tell me they appreciate my calm, supportive, and nonjudgmental approach. I believe that mental health care should feel human, not rushed, and that you deserve a space where you can show up exactly as you are. I take time to truly listen, understand your concerns, and explore what you’ve been carrying. You are not just a checklist of symptoms. You never have to “have it all together” in order to meet with me. I value honesty, collaboration, and making sure you feel informed and empowered in every step of your care. My goal is to create a comfortable environment where you feel safe, understood, and part of the decision-making process.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work begins with a thorough initial evaluation, where we’ll talk about your history, current challenges, goals, and any previous treatment experiences. I approach this as a conversation, not an interrogation. We will use this information to work together to understand what’s going on and how to move forward. From there, we’ll create an individualized plan that may include medication management, lifestyle considerations, coping strategies, and ongoing check-ins. Follow-up appointments are collaborative and paced to your needs. We review what’s working, adjust as needed, and make sure you feel heard and supported each step of the way. My process is flexible and tailored to you. Whether you’re seeking clarity around a diagnosis, adjusting medications, or looking for a gentler, more supportive approach to your mental health.
