Marriage and Family Therapist
CA
Hi, I’m Roni. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works primarily with adult women and LGBTQ+ clients seeking deeper healing, self-understanding, and more ease in their lives. Beginning therapy takes courage, and I honor how vulnerable that first step can feel. My practice is trauma-informed, feminist, and queer-affirming. I specialize in EMDR and integrate somatic, body-based approaches to support healing that is not just intellectual, but embodied. I work with anxiety, depression, PTSD and complex trauma, relationship challenges, grief, low self-worth, and identity exploration, including gender, sexuality, and spirituality. I believe that symptoms make sense in the context of lived experience. Rather than pathologizing, I approach therapy with curiosity and compassion. My goal is to create a space where you feel deeply seen, safe enough to be honest, and supported in moving toward meaningful change. Therapy with me is collaborative. Together, we will gently explore what has shaped you, tend to what feels stuck or painful, and build the internal resources needed for greater freedom, connection, and self-trust. Healing is possible, and you do not have to navigate it alone.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is warm, grounded, and engaged. I am an active therapist who balances deep attunement with thoughtful guidance. I will not sit silently and simply nod, and I will not push you faster than your system is ready to go. Safety is central to my work. Before moving into trauma processing, we build tools for regulation, stability, and self-compassion. I specialize in EMDR and weave in somatic interventions to help you track nervous system responses and develop greater capacity. We pay attention not only to thoughts and emotions, but also to what is happening in the body. My approach is relational and collaborative. I value transparency and welcome feedback about what feels helpful or not. Therapy with me is not about “fixing” you. It is about understanding protective patterns, honoring your resilience, and creating space for new ways of being. I work best with clients who are curious about themselves and open to depth. If you are ready to gently explore what has shaped you and build a more aligned, empowered life, we may be a strong fit.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first few sessions focus on understanding your story, your goals, and what brings you to therapy now. We explore current symptoms, relevant history, relationship dynamics, and strengths. Together, we clarify what healing would look like for you. Even when sessions are conversational, our work is intentional and depth-oriented. We pay attention to recurring themes and patterns, noticing how deeper dynamics show up in relationships, self-talk, emotional reactions, and daily life. Through a relational and feminist lens, we also consider how family systems, culture, identity, and power have shaped these patterns. This creates insight while building the capacity to respond differently over time. A core part of my work with all clients involves building internal resources and nervous system regulation skills. This may include grounding practices, somatic awareness, and strengthening a felt sense of safety and self-trust. Developing this foundation supports stability in daily life and creates the capacity for deeper work. If we decide to use EMDR, we move into trauma reprocessing once a solid base is in place, always at a pace that feels manageable and contained. Throughout sessions, I track your window of tolerance and may slow down, shift into grounding or resourcing, or pause processing to support regulation when needed. Therapy is an active, evolving process. We periodically revisit goals, notice progress, and refine our focus. My aim is to support not just symptom relief, but lasting shifts in how you relate to yourself, your relationships, and the world around you.
