Getting to know Dr. Rosel Lewis

With over 18years of working in various healthcare settings; in patient’s homes, GLEs, inpatient psychiatry and medical, community, long-term care and inpatient settings, I have an extensive experience in assessment, treatment, care coordination, case management. As a DNP prepared provider who is specialized in psychological trauma, I am dedicated to screening for traumatic experiences and other social determinants of health which can have an impact on the patient’s physical and mental wellbeing. As a healthcare provider who is certified in both psychiatry and psychiatric mental health, my goal is to offer compassionate, comprehensive care that is not only thorough but covers all aspects of a patient's needs. I also deliver care with empathy, understanding, and genuine concern for the patient’s well-being while considering the patient's emotional and medical needs. Providing holistic and person-centered care remains the core values and goals of my practice. I currently treat patients with acute and chronic psychiatric mental health disorders, physical health problems, substance and alcohol use disorders, and other neurological disorders such as, learning disabilities, autism, ADD and ADHD. Trauma-informed care is the focus of my practice. My focus is to rule out medical conditions that may mimic psychiatric illness. I am therefore well equipped with the skills and knowledge required to provide exceptional care to both patients and families/caregivers. I believe in providing clear communication and education to my patients about their health, interventions which allows them to make informed decisions regarding their health. I recognize the role of a patient’s family/social support network, on patient's overall health and wellness, and therefore with the patient’s permission ensure that these needs are met. I focus on providing individualized care based on each individual’s needs. Assessments are focused on understanding the person as a whole.
