We accept walk-ins with no appointment required; however, scheduling an appointment in advance can help reduce your overall visit time.
At DOC, we strive to be in-network with all major insurance carriers and Medicare programs. We charge regular insurance copays with no facility fees and accept all major credit cards as well as cash. Katie (physician’s assistant) was wonderful. I was terrified after having gotten what seemed like bad news from a different orthopedist. She gave me a different opinion and reassured me. Christina (receptionist) went out of her way to help me get help when I could not reach the radiology clinic to schedule an MRI.
DOC is so much better than the hundreds of other ortho clinics I’ve been to! I appreciate DOC having weekend appointments too!

They made me drive all the way over there just to tell me that I couldn't be seen because I didn't have my copay. When they found out I didn't have money they smiled in my face and turned me away not caring that I was going to be suffering and paying for two more weeks it did nothing to try to help me. People in healthcare aren't supposed to gloat and laugh in your face when you can't afford to pay. The receptionist was the most non professional person have encountered since I've been back in Austin. I was embarrassed in front of a waiting room for the people. Is she just kept smiling

Don’t waste your time or money here. I arrived in pain, hoping for compassionate care, but was met with cold, dismissive treatment. The front desk barely acknowledged me, took me straight to X-rays without asking what happened, and told me there was no doctor on site. When I questioned the need for X-rays and asked about other options, the physician assistant was defensive and dismissive, offering no real dialogue—just justification. Feeling powerless and still in pain, I agreed to the X-ray, which provided little insight. She prescribed steroids to a closed pharmacy, and now no one will answer my calls to correct it. I paid for this with insurance—should’ve gone to the ER where I might’ve at least been treated like a human being. The X ray technician was kind but otherwise I am disappointed and back to square one and out a few hundred dollars.

My first visit to Direct Orthopedic Care and I was extremely impressed with their overall operation. Emma and Robert (who work at the front desk) were both welcoming and very helpful. I arrived very early because I wanted to be able to give them my list of medication’s and surgeries and necessary insurance information before my exam.
The first person who took me back was James, from radiology. He was very kind and helpful directing me through the process of having my x-rays. I’ve had many x-rays and other radiology testing over the years, but I am 74 now so things change. After the MA took me into the exam room, It wasn’t even 10 minutes later that Nicole the NP came in asking me what was going on. She was very caring and gentle when examining my knee and leg. She did an ultrasound exam and determined an MRI was needed for further eval. Deja came in to fit me with a knee brace and assist me with scheduling my follow-up for the MRI Results.
So far I am very happy with DOC!

The environment was very clean and very welcoming. I was seeing pretty much right away after I signed in and the x-ray technician was very through in get multiple x-ray of all my foot. The doctor was very clear in communicating
about my x-ray and giving me a different boot.

Took great care of me and then referred me to a surgeon who saw me the same day. If you want great medical service and need to be seen quickly to assess your condition, I would highly recommend.

I went for my wrist pain radiating until neck after suffering for 3days. Provider hasn’t been polite about the pain I have..instead of analyzing my complaints she threw them saying they don’t make sense. She simply said its minor inflammation for which they took nearly 12-15 xrays and ultrasound. I was sent with a wrist band and elbow band which she suggested quoting “if you want to be choose being better or not” you would choose.
