What should a new client know about working with you?

Hello! I’m Rowena, a dedicated mental health professional with 12 years of experience in providing therapeutic support to individuals navigating life’s challenges. My practice is rooted in a client-centered approach that emphasizes empathy, respect, and collaboration. I believe that each person has the innate capacity to heal and grow, and my role is to guide you on that journey. I specialize in anxiety, depression, and trauma, and I utilize EMDR and evidence-based therapeutic techniques tailored to meet your unique needs. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, gain insights, and develop effective coping strategies. As a lifelong learner, I stay current with the latest research and methodologies in mental health to offer the highest quality of care. I am passionate about fostering resilience and empowering my clients to lead fulfilling lives. Whether you’re seeking support during a difficult time or looking to enhance your personal development, I’m here to help. I invite you to reach out and discuss how we can work together toward your goals. Thank you for considering me as a partner in your mental health journey.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My typical process for working with clients is all about building a strong therapeutic relationship, which is essential for effective treatment. In our initial session, I focus on creating a safe and welcoming space—really, it’s important for clients to feel at ease when sharing their thoughts and experiences. We usually kick things off with a deeper exploration of the client's history, symptoms, and goals. I like to pose open-ended questions that allow them to express themselves freely. This diagnostic process involves collecting information about their medical, psychological, and social background, and sometimes I’ll use specific assessments or questionnaires to gain a better understanding of their condition. As a psychotherapist, I integrate talk therapy into my practice, tailoring various techniques to meet the client’s unique needs. Whether it’s Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, or other modalities, we’ll find the right fit together. Collaboration is key throughout our sessions; I encourage clients to share their preferences and concerns openly. After the initial assessment, we’ll develop a personalized treatment plan that could include therapy, medication management, or both—whatever feels most beneficial for them. I believe in maintaining open communication, so each session builds on the last. This way, we can track progress and make necessary adjustments along the way. My ultimate goal is to empower clients, equipping them with the tools needed to effectively manage their mental health, all while ensuring they feel supported and understood throughout the journey.
