He then completed his residency in psychiatry at the prestigious Mount Sinai Hospital on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, going on to train in psychoanalysis at the New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute, the country’s oldest psychoanalytic institute.

Roy Bachard is excellent. He listens and really engages in trying to figure out the problem. He is very polite and calm. The office is very quiet and it's great if your like me and are very hypersensitive to your environment (dont do well with noises, other people etc) really enjoyed my visit and will definitely be following up. It was well worth the 45 minute drive.

He is clearly well trained and has experience in dealing with all types of issues. He made me feel completely comfortable and "safe" discussing anything. My input in the treatment plan was welcomed. It's very difficult in this day to find a doctor in any field of practice that truly cares about the patient experience, but Dr Bachar is absolutely one of them.

Dr. Bachar was extremely flexible in scheduling my appointment at the last minute, and once I arrive, very engaging and understanding of my situation. Will continue to see him, and would recommend him to anyone in the area in need of treatment.

Dr. Bachar is by far the best psychiatrist I‘be seen.... and I’ve see quite a number over the years. Some were decent, some were OK, and some were just plain awful. Unfortunately, it seems as though the majority of psychiatrists either simply write prescriptions and shuffle you out the door, while others sit there nodding and responding”uh huh” every now and then.
Dr. Bachar is unlike any I’ve seen before. From our very first session, (which was extremely last minute and went out of his way to accommodate me), I immediately got the feeling that he sincerely cared and was really truly, but he was actually able to respond with insightful comments and ideas. Ultimately, his responses and answers not only provided a feeling that he actually understood what I was saying and how I felt thank you, but I actually left that very first session feeling “helped” (in other words, I felt I was able to look at and think about some of my issues in a different, more productive way). This honestly was the first time I’ve ever experienced that feeling from a psychiatrist.
I would absolutely recommend Dr. Bachar to anyone who is looking for a REAL psychiatrist who is actually able to have a productive conversation and provide insightful and useful responses. Lastly, he has been beyond accommodating and flexible with scheduling… Unfortunately, for a number reasons I often have trouble either making it to appointments on time or finding myself needing to reschedule. I really can’t say enough good things about Dr. car and am extremely grateful that I found him when I did.

Dr. Bachar is always willing to accommodate me. He approaches his patients with understanding and attentiveness. He doesn’t just prescribe medications. He works with me to find the best treatment. He takes the time to fully explain the various options and therapies that would be the most beneficial for me. He has helped me make positive changes in my life. I highly recommend him!
