About Dr. Rupesh Mehta
A native New Yorker, Dr Mehta graduated with a medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in 2005. His post-graduate training included Internal Medicine Residency at Brown University in Providence, RI. He completed his Fellowship at the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at New York Presbyterian Hospital/ Weill Cornell Medical Center in 2010. This also included training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the Rogosin Institute, NY.
Before joining Suffolk Nephrology Consultants in 2017, Dr. Mehta was in private Nephrology practice in the local area. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and is on staff at Stony Brook University Hospital, John T. Mather Memorial Hospital, St. Charles Hospital, and St. Catherine of Siena Hospital. Dr. Mehta is interested in all aspects of Nephrology, including inpatient and outpatient management of acute and chronic kidney disease, hypertension, and kidney transplant management.

Office staff could not have been nicer.
Dr Mehta was very nice, went over all of my results and had a plan moving forward.
Phlebotomist was extremely gentle with drawing blood, which is greatly appreciated, as I have horrible veins. No bruising… a big thank you!

Dr Mehta is an excellent physican - I truly wish there were more like him. He is an affable, communicative, warm, and caring professional. At the same time, he's clearly an expert in his field, providing me with comprehensive information and important considerations and details - going the extra mile to ensure all my concerns and questions were answered. His entire approach engenders trust and a feeling that, no matter what, I can rely on him to ensure optimal health. Overall, an extremely positive healthcare experience - something I have not had in years.
It is also worth mentioning that the office staff - in particular the young man in reception who checked me in/took copay, etc. - was pleasant, "on top of things", engaged, and responsive. It was obvious to me he not only took his job seriously, but heard and cared about my concerns.
Bravo to all.
