What should a new client know about working with you?

I want new clients to know that seeking psychiatric care is a positive step toward improving your overall well-being, and my goal is to make that experience as comfortable and supportive as possible. I understand that discussing mental health concerns and considering treatment options can feel overwhelming, especially for those seeking care for the first time. You can expect to be treated with respect, compassion, and without judgment throughout the process. When working with me, I prioritize listening and understanding your unique experiences, concerns, and goals. I believe that successful treatment starts with a strong provider-client relationship built on trust, open communication, and collaboration. I take the time to ensure that clients feel heard and that their questions and concerns are addressed thoroughly. I view medication as one potential tool in the treatment process, not the entire solution. If medication is appropriate, I work closely with clients to discuss options, explain benefits and potential side effects, and develop a treatment plan that aligns with their needs and preferences. My goal is to help clients make informed decisions about their care and feel confident in the treatment approach we choose together. I also believe that mental health treatment is most effective when it addresses the whole person. Whenever appropriate, I collaborate with therapists and other members of the treatment team to provide coordinated care that supports both symptom management and long-term emotional wellness. Most importantly, I want clients to know that they are not alone. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood changes, stress, or another mental health concern, I am committed to providing guidance, support, and evidence-based care to help you move toward greater stability, balance, and quality of life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation designed to help me understand your symptoms, medical and mental health history, current concerns, lifestyle factors, and treatment goals. During our initial appointment, I take the time to listen carefully, gather important information, and develop a clear understanding of how your symptoms may be affecting your daily life, relationships, work, or overall well-being. Once we have identified your needs, we work together to develop an individualized treatment plan. This may include education about your diagnosis, recommendations for lifestyle changes, therapy referrals or coordination, medication management, or a combination of approaches. I believe that treatment decisions should be collaborative, and I encourage clients to ask questions and actively participate in developing a plan that feels right for them. For clients who may benefit from psychiatric medication, I provide thoughtful medication management that includes discussing available options, reviewing potential benefits and side effects, monitoring effectiveness, and making adjustments as needed. My goal is to find the safest and most effective treatment approach while ensuring that clients feel informed and supported throughout the process. At Therapy Now Mental Health Outpatient Services, I work closely with therapists and other members of our multidisciplinary team to provide coordinated, whole-person care. This collaborative approach helps ensure that all aspects of a client's mental health treatment are aligned and working toward the same goals. Throughout treatment, I focus on building a trusting relationship, tracking progress, and adapting care as your needs evolve. My goal is not only to help reduce symptoms but also to support long-term emotional wellness, improved functioning, and a better overall quality of life.
