Dr. Ruvan Shein is a practicing gastroenterologist and internal medicine physician. Did my annual physical here and I have decided to make Dr Shein my primary care physician. He is very warm, very caring, and a great listener. He looks at wellbeing holistically, beyond traditional western medicine, so also in terms of mental wellbeing, food intake, etc.

My primary physician who I have the upmost confidence in his advice and suggestions. Back in 2020, Dr Shein suggested I remove my gallbladder based on tests he ran. I followed his suggestion. Later I found out it was cancerous but been cancer free.

He has been my primary doctor for years. I wouldn’t exchange him for anyone. He is precise in his review and he will prescribe tests/exams if he feels they’re warranted.
He referred my wife to MSKCC when he noted a disparity in her blood labs, later resulting in leukemia. He noted poppies in my gall bladder, referred me to Mr Sinai for a laporoscopy with Cholecystectomy. Gall bladder was later tested and found to be cancerous and caught in its early stages. All clear as of today.

Dr Ruvan Shein is a straight shooter with genuine warmth. I decided to book with Dr. Shein after having a mediocre experience with multiple other gastroenterologists. He seems great so far and has suggested noninvasive tests rather than jumping straight into yet another endoscopy, which I appreciate. His office has in-house ultrasound techs which made it really easy for me when he ordered an abdominal ultrasound. I feel hopeful that he will figure out what is causing my recurring GI issues.
