Getting to know Ryan Leslie
I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with a Master's degree in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Walden University. I specialize in diagnosing and treating psychiatric conditions through medications and supportive therapy. I provide an initial psychiatric assessment, which may include various diagnostic tests to rule out possible medical causes of psychiatric problems. When appropriate, I offer ongoing, individualized medication management. A referral to a therapist may be recommended as part of the treatment plan.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner specializing in diagnosing and treating psychiatric conditions through medications and supportive therapy. I provide an initial psychiatric assessment which may include various diagnostic tests to rule out possible medical causes of psychiatric problems. When appropriate, I provide ongoing, individualized medication management. A referral to a therapist may be recommended as part of the treatment plan.
My practice was born out of a desire to escape the transactional nature of modern corporate medicine and provide authentic, person-centered care that is not driven by metrics and checkboxes. I wanted the freedom to build a practice with the provider-patient relationship placed at its center. I truly take the time to get to know my patients and listen to their thoughts, feelings, and concerns without judgment.
*Controlled Substance Policy**
I do NOT prescribe stimulants (i.e., Adderall, Ritalin, Vyvanse, Focalin). I do NOT prescribe benzodiazepines (i.e., Xanax, Valium, Ativan, Klonopin) for LONG-TERM use. If you are currently taking benzodiazepines and elect to proceed with treatment, you will be prescribed a slow, gentle taper of the medication so that you may discontinue it safely. All other controlled substances, such as Lyrica or medications for insomnia, will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.show less

I aim to be thorough and actively listen to my patients. I practice personalized care, tailoring every treatment plan to meet the individual needs of the patient. I believe in shared decision-making and encourage the patient to take an active role in their care.
