Getting to know Dr. Sade Savage

I’m a psychiatric physician assistant at Zellig Psychiatry and am currently welcoming new patients, treating depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD and more. I take a relational approach to care, meaning that I listen closely, explain things in plain language, and move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I see adolescents and adults (12+) for psychiatric evaluations and medication management. Before joining Zellig, I spent several years caring for service members as deputy director of behavioral health for the U.S. Air Force. That experience shaped the way I practice now--compassionate and deeply respectful of the people I work with. My clinical background includes a full-time postgraduate psychiatry fellowship and advanced doctoral training in the field. What matters most to me, though, is how care feels to the person sitting across from me. Patients often tell me they feel comfortable opening up with me, even when talking about difficult experiences. In our work together, we’ll take the time to understand what’s happening in your life and build a plan that feels realistic and sustainable--something that supports you over time, not just in the moment.

What should a new client know about working with you?

At Zellig psychiatry, working with me means you’ll have a provider who follows through and stays engaged in your care. I’m attentive to how treatment affects your daily life, and I explain decisions in a way that helps you feel informed instead of uncertain. My focus is on building a steady therapeutic relationship where you feel supported and understood.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process is intentional and relationship-focused. The first appointment is an in-depth intake visit where we spend significant time talking through your experiences and what you hope to change. At Zellig, these sessions are longer than what many people have experienced elsewhere, because I want space to understand your story without rushing or moving past important details. After the intake, we continue with follow-up visits that allow us to build on the work we’ve started rather than repeating surface-level conversations. I pay close attention to how treatment feels for you over time and how it fits into your day-to-day life. The goal is to develop a working relationship where you feel known, supported, and able to speak openly about what is helping and what isn’t, so we can adjust thoughtfully instead of reacting quickly or mechanically.

We’re in-network with select insurance plans, and we verify your benefits before your first visit so there are no surprises. Your copay or deductible responsibility is collected at the time of the appointment, and claims are submitted directly to your insurer on your behalf. If your plan is out-of-network, we can provide a detailed receipt you may submit for reimbursement. If costs or coverage feel confusing, we’re happy to walk through your benefits with you so you know exactly what to expect before moving forward.
