What should a new client know about working with you?

I'm a strong advocate for psychotherapy and sensible use of medications, as well knowledgeable in complementary and holistic approaches to treat mental health. I provide a patient-centric approach towards care. A new patient appointment begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, including an assessment of the patient's medical and psychosocial history, current symptoms, and concerns. This allows a detailed understanding of the patient's condition and the impact it is having on their day-day life. After the initial consult, if medication management is recommended, the patient is provided thorough education regarding treatment options, potential side effects, and expected treatment outcomes. Regular follow-ups are scheduled to monitor efficacy of the treatment plan, make any necessary adjustments including coordination with other specialists or therapists if appropriate. I also provide psychoeducation to patient caregivers and family members regarding the latest treatments for behavioral and mental health and the importance of psychotherapy for comprehensive care.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Thank you for booking an appointment with us! Once your appointment has been confirmed by one of our team members, the following steps must be completed prior to attending your session: 1. You must fill out all of our new patient paperwork and upload a photo ID and picture of your insurance card (if applicable). Should you not receive this email from us, please reach out to us for more information. 2. Should you have insurance, your insurance benefits will be checked 24-48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. If you have a deductible/copayment responsibility or are paying out-of-pocket, you will receive another email with a link to make a payment online after paperwork is submitted. 3. If you do not have a deductible/copayment for services, a link will still be sent to consent to receive telehealth services. 4. After payment/consent is provided, you will automatically receive a link with instructions on how to attend your remote session. You can find the link and instructions at the top of the automated confirmation email. You will receive the link to attend your session only after all of the steps indicated above are completed. If your appointment is coming up and you have yet to receive the link to attend your appointment, check your emails or reach out to the office directly as a step may have been missed.

I saw PA Zafar for a weight loss management visit. She was very knowledgeable about healthy lifestyle choices, including which diet plans should I be following as well as exercise regimens that I can add to my daily routine that I will enjoy and can continue long-term. She listens patiently, answered all of my questions in great detail and she sounded genuinely vested in my weight loss journey and in helping me meet my goals. Will highly recommend and I am excited to have found TruAlly medical!
