I went to Dr Akhtar for an eye 911 and I found the staff nice and friendly. There were 6 patients ahead of me but it didn't take too long to see the doctor. He was very pleasant and knowledgable and respectable.

Dr. Akhtar seemed very knowledgeable and was very thorough in his explanation. The wait wasn't too long, but I did had to fill all the forms out again as the info did not download from zocdoc. I would most likely recommend this doctor if someone was looking for one.

Dr. Sajjad Akhtar is a Board certified Ophthalmologist. He finished his training from New York University and Manhattan Eye and Ear Hospital in New York. Dr. Akhtar has performed thousands of Ophthalmic surgical procedures. He has authored a numbers of scientific papers and has presented his work at national and international level. He invented a new instrument to measure eye pressure more accurately. A patent was awarded to him for this invention.
We believe that latest technology is essential in achieving high standard of care. The practice has invested in latest technology like the femto second laser and Visx S4 with iris registration for LASIK. In fact we are the only practice in Brooklyn and Queens to have these lasers in our office. We have also invested in latest 3D Optovue laser camera for early detection of Glaucoma and management of diabetic eye disease.

Doctor was over an hour late coming from a different office. People waiting started leaving as he walked in. When the doctor was giving me my eye exam I had so patiently waited for, he was not even apologetic about being so late, when I joked with him about the traffic and it being a holiday weekend, he said "I missed my exit". I was initially going to purchase my glasses from this office but after wasting over an hour of my time with no apology, I decided to go spend my money elsewhere. No respect for people's time.

horrible place... Very bad and rude staff.. I was waiting there for more than hour and staff took someone who came after me bcuz she was her friend...

I purposely made my appointment at 9:00 am because I had a lot of things to do on Saturday. I arrived exactly at 9:00 and the doctor didn't arrive until 10:10. I asked the girls in the office twice when he would be coming before he arrived and both times I got disapproving looks. When the doctor finally arrived, he didn't even apologize for his lateness or give any explanation as to why he was late. Needless to say I will be looking for another ophthalmologist.

I took my dad to see Dr. Akhtar, who quickly determined he needed surgery for catarac. Dr. Akhtar performed the surgery and my dad is seeing through his left eye again. Thank you Dr. Akhtar.
