About Sally Safferson
Sally Safferson is a Board-Certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of experience in various OB/GYN fields, including outpatient gynecology, infertility, pelvic floor therapy, and labor & delivery. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner program at Drexel University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Virginia.
Sally’s primary goal is to make patients feel at ease discussing their most personal concerns in an inclusive and judgment-free environment. She has a special interest in caring for young people, providing a safe and educational setting for patients’ first pelvic examinations and for discussions on issues such as irregular menses or contraception. Sally offers comprehensive contraceptive counseling to find the right option for each patient, including IUD and Nexplanon insertions and removals.
She treats the annual GYN exam as an opportunity to check in on how her patients are doing at every stage of life, from puberty through menopause and beyond. Sally is committed to helping patients manage conditions that affect their daily lives, such as urinary incontinence or painful intercourse.
Sally is available for same-day or next-day evaluations of vaginitis, urinary tract infections, emergency contraception, breast concerns, and more. She assesses and manages heavy, painful, or irregular bleeding patterns by reviewing patient history, performing appropriate examinations and testing, ordering additional labs and imaging, and creating personalized care plans.
In addition, Sally sees OB patients and is eager to support women through pregnancy and postpartum. As a new mother herself, she understands the physical and emotional changes that come with pregnancy, delivery, and the postpartum period. She also provides breastfeeding support, including managing complications such as mastitis and referring patients as needed.

Perhaps I was here on an off day for the clinic staff, given the other glowing reviews, but I was met with unfriendly front desk staff, unsatisfactory bedside manner, lack of information, and super long wait times. I was here for a pap smear and also had questions about gaining some information on baseline fertility. The NP essentially said not much could be done since I was having normal periods. After advocating for myself by saying I want more information so I can address unaware issues before trying, the appointment went downhill from there. From being asked if I was married after asking about baseline fertility testing from the MA to passive-aggressive comments from the NP, I left my appointment feeling defeated and like I was wrong for being a woman in my 30s trying to be proactive. If you're interested in having preliminary information about your fertility and have not been diagnosed with infertility, I would try another provider or clinic all together.

First heal care provider who gave me sympathy of a past miscarriage when going over my medical history. Not only that, it was genuine and heartfelt. I wasn’t expecting that. Writing this brings tears to my eyes. I wish all health care providers would have her level of empathy and compassion. I haven’t been to an obgyn in years I’ve long dreaded going - Sally’s bedside manner is compassionate and understanding. She’s beyond thoughtful and patient. Not to mention I never felt judged by her or her staff. I got hot and they even brought a fan into my room before my exam. Such a sweet staff. They eased my concerns and by the end of the exam I laughed at how nervous I was because it was no big deal at all. I hope this review reaches someone who is also nervous because this office is fantastic.
