Samantha Shue, NP

Nurse Practitioner (Psychiatry)
200 Gtwy Prk Dr, Bldg B, Syracuse, NY
Samantha graduated from St. Joseph’s college of Nursing in 2008 with an associates degree in applied science with a concentration in Nursing. She worked as an RN in antepartum/postpartum, substance abuse inpatient rehabilitation, oncology and found her niche in the Medical Intensive Care Unit. She later attended SUNY Upstate Medical University where she obtained her bachelors degree in Nursing in 2012 and her Masters Degree in Nursing with concentration in Psychiatry in 2015. She obtained her ANCC board certification in psychiatry in 2016. Since that time, Samantha has worked in a residential treatment center for children and adolescents and worked with children in therapeutic family foster care. She has worked in the outpatient setting with children and adolescents for eight years and has done consulting work for primary care. She has worked as needed in the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) for several years. She has also done some private practice work and worked as a telemedicine provider treating individuals across the lifespan. The most inspiring part of my job is to watch the individual transformation that occurs within my clients through their hard work and dedication to improve their mental well being and the quality of their life. There is no better reward than that. Outside of work, I am a mother to two boys (Noa and Isaiah) and two girls (Rose and Amorah) ranging from 5 years old to 14 years old, a mother to two English bulldogs and recently married. She enjoys spending time with her children, taking trips with her children, reading, spending time at the beach and by her pool and travelling to new places. The best piece of advice she has is when you take accountability for your own life and actions, then and only can personal growth, transformation and true change begins.
