“I’ve had a great experience working with Samantha. She takes the time to clearly explain the medication process and ensures that both the dosage and type of medication are thoughtfully selected rather than rushed. I truly appreciate that she is not overly reliant on medication and instead takes a balanced, individualized approach to treatment. She has the right temperament to both support and challenge her clients — holding me accountable, encouraging growth outside of my comfort zone, and helping me stay consistent in building long-term mental stability. Her approach feels intentional, empowering, and results-driven.”

Getting to know Samantha Vassor

Hello! My name Samantha Vassor and I am Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Thank you in advance for considering collaboration with me in your journey of Wellness. Whether you are experiencing mood swings, life transitions, lack of motivation, trauma, or just have a general need for a safe, non judgmental and open space to process life’s obstacles, I am here to walk alongside you on your journey towards healing. With over a decade of behavioral mental health experience across the life spans in NYC underserved populations within various settings such as inpatient and outpatient, and witnessing the effects of underestimated and overlooked mental health needs of close loved ones, I bring empathy, enthusiasm, and a strong compassion to the field. I look at wellness holistically, striving to look at the person as a whole, and touch base on all areas of life, including physical, social, and if applicable, Christian Faith aspects can be implemented in care if desired, as Christian Faith is central in my life. I take pride in seeing the full potential in people and offering personalized care, treating each individual with respect and professionalism, while also empowering them to lead lives more fulfilling. I treat various illnesses including but not limited to Depressive disorders, Anxiety disorders, Mood disorders, Attention disorders, Trauma, Adjustment disorders, and Psychotic disorders in CO, CT, DE, MA, MD, NY and VA. I see individuals as humans beyond their diagnoses, and I am passionate about treating them accordingly. Mental health treatment can be a challenging but rewarding experience. Choosing a provider to trust and work with is an important decision that does not have to be difficult. In working with you, I hope to educate you, help you gain understanding about the mental state you are in, and jointly come up with a plan to get us to a better you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Witnessing the stigmas and effects of unaddressed mental illness in loved ones from a young age, I became drawn to wanting to understand more about it so that I can eventually make a difference. I intend to look at and treat everyone I came across as a human, not just a person with mental illness, with a patient and warm hearted demeanor. Feel free to learn more about me on my site or reach out through HarvestMindPsychiatry.com

What is your typical process for working with clients?
