I became very interested in nutrition at the young age of 10 when I first started ballet lessons. For as long as I can remember, I always struggled with body image. I became even more interested in nutrition after starting ballet because there was the stereotypical desired body that a ballerina was expected to have. I quickly became hyper-focused on my body and nutrition was my solution. I always said once I finished my ballet career, I would become a "Nutritionist." I obtained my Master of Science degree in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics from New York University. In addition to my interests in Weight Management, I wanted to help several family members who had Type 2 Diabetes. After becoming a Registered Dietitian, I became a Certified Diabetes Counseling Education Specialist (CDCES) to have the best understanding of Diabetes so that I could help others who also deal with this condition. Throughout my nutrition career, I have written articles, lectured on various nutrition topics, been on television, and have been a guest on the radio throughout her career. The best part is that I have assisted many patients to become successful in meeting their nutritional goals! I am a strong believer that setting the facts straight, lifestyle modification, science-based education, and personalization enables you to be successful with your goals and become the healthiest you could possibly be. Sometimes all it takes is a motivator who can see things from another angle and provide the true facts in order to get you to your health goals, therefore, improving many aspects of your life.
