Sameh Wasfi, LMFT

Marriage and Family Therapist
CA
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over fifteen years of experience specializing in couples therapy. I integrate the Gottman Method with Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)-two of the most research-backed approaches for helping couples repair, reconnect, and build lasting intimacy. But beyond the science, my work is deeply personal. I've sat in the client's chair myself. I know firsthand how vulnerable this process can feel; the courage it takes to face your relationship struggles head-on; and I also know the transformation that's possible when two people commit to doing the hard work together. I earned my Master's in Counseling from California State University, Fullerton, and began my clinical work in 2010, originally with a primary focus on children. Early on, I realized that true, lasting change doesn't happen in isolation-it happens in the relationships that shape us. This understanding led me to shift my focus from children to couples, helping them break free from painful cycles, rebuild trust, and create the kind of partnership where both people feel truly cared for and valued. I knew that the greatest gift that can be given to a child is having parents at home who deeply love each other. Throughout my career, I've worked in diverse settings-from outpatient clinics to correctional facilities. My time working with incarcerated individuals deepened my belief that no matter our circumstances, we all long for the same thing: someone we can trust, someone who loves us, and belonging that gives us meaning and purpose. Between 2012 and 2016, I served as a clinical supervisor for a government-funded program in Massachusetts, overseeing therapeutic services for children, adolescents, and families in underserved communities. In 2021, I opened my private practice, where I work with couples and individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, infidelity, complex trauma, and addiction.
