Getting to know Samira Hafiz

Are you feeling overwhelmed by the pressures of work, school, or family life? Juggling multiple responsibilities can leave you feeling stressed, disconnected, and uncertain. My practice is currently focused on medication care, as my therapy slots are full. My approach to prescribing centers on clarity and open communication. I believe clients should fully understand why a medication is being recommended, how it works, and what outcomes we are aiming for. I take time to explain expected benefits, common side effects, and potential alternatives, so that you are never left in the dark about your treatment. Adjustments are made carefully and thoughtfully, with an emphasis on minimizing side effects while maximizing relief from symptoms. I also emphasize monitoring—both self-observation and regular check-ins—so that we can respond quickly to how your body and mind are adjusting. You can expect me to be proactive in answering your questions and transparent in discussing the evidence behind any decision, ensuring that you feel empowered in your care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

At this time, I am available for medication care only, as all therapy slots are full. Medication is not just about starting a prescription—it’s about ongoing care. My approach emphasizes long-term support, meaning that once we initiate a medication, we will continue to assess its effectiveness, side effects, and relevance to your evolving needs. I encourage open communication so that you can share honestly about what you notice, whether positive or challenging. Adjustments are a normal part of this process, and I work with you to ensure that your treatment remains appropriate as your circumstances change. For me, medication management is less about quick fixes and more about building a sustainable plan that supports your overall stability, resilience, and ability to engage fully in your life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I provide medication treatments for mental health conditions like generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, depression, and ADHD. I view prescribing as a shared process where flexibility is key. My first step is always to listen—understanding your concerns, goals, and past experiences with medication. I then present options, outlining both benefits and risks, and invite you to participate fully in choosing the path forward. If we move ahead with medication, we begin carefully, allowing time for your body to adjust. I monitor your progress through regular check-ins and remain open to making changes if needed. Life is not static, and neither is treatment—plans should evolve with you. My process is built on partnership, ensuring that you feel heard and respected. Flexibility allows us to adapt your care as your needs shift, keeping treatment effective, safe, and centered on your well-being.
