About Dr. Sapna Vaghani
A native of Glenview, IL, Dr. Sapna Patel Vaghani is a board-certified pediatric dermatologist with a passion for working with children and adolescents. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Drexel University and completed her residencies in Pediatrics at Children’s Memorial Hospital and in Dermatology at Northwestern University, followed by a Dermatology fellowship at Northwestern University.
Dr. Vaghani finds the most rewarding part of her work is seeing the joy and relief on a patient’s or parent’s face during follow-up visits when their skin condition has significantly improved or cleared.
In her experience, she has treated many young children and teenagers with skin conditions that make them look different from their peers, whether due to hair loss, loss of skin color, or a large birthmark. These changes can cause significant distress for patients and families. Dr. Vaghani believes it is important for her patients to know she is their advocate, guiding them through difficult times and working to find treatment plans that achieve successful results.
She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of acne, eczema, hair loss, vitiligo, hemangiomas, and vascular malformations, and performs surgical excisions of moles and birthmarks. She also provides Pulsed Dye Laser treatments for port wine stains and hemangiomas.
Outside of work, Dr. Vaghani lives in Naperville with her husband and two young children. They enjoy cooking, baking, dancing, and reading together!

It seemed that the office was lacking cleanliness. The doctor did not visibly wash hands or sanitize or clean the area of skin that was being handled prior to opening up a cyst. No gloves or sterile instruments were used which made me a little nervous for risk of infection while popping a cyst on my 3 year old.

The visit with Dr. Vaghani was not as expected or not very pleasant. In the end, I felt like my daughter and I were rushed out the door after waiting for an hour. I was expecting the doctor to consult my daughter more about her acne causes, and preventative measures. This was not brushed upon at all. The doctor's bedside manners was a little disappointing. I felt like my questions, based on the doctor's body language, were not welcomed. I was not asked if we had additional questions before being rushed out. The first impression is the best impression. Unfortunately, I was disappointed.
