Getting to know Sara Gena Israel

Welcome! I'm Sara Gena, and I'm thrilled you're considering Balanced Mind Mental Health (BMMH) for your care. I specialize in medication management with integrative strategies, focusing on women and girls aged 10 to 50 in Florida and Maryland. My approach combines traditional psychiatry with integrative lifestyle health strategies, nutritional guidance, and the use of nutraceuticals and supplements to support mental wellness. I address depression, anxiety, concentration issues, and emotional distress through a comprehensive, personalized approach. With over 15 years of nursing experience, I prioritize listening closely and working collaboratively to develop treatment plans that promote emotional and physical balance. I hold a Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Florida Atlantic University, a Master’s in Public Health from Grand Canyon University, and a Bachelor’s degree from Howard University. My goal is to support your mental health holistically, helping you achieve a balanced life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My strength is helping you make that transformation to living a better-balanced lifestyle. As your provider, I consider environmental, childhood experiences, lifestyle habits, and dietary factors that could impact your mental and physical health. I prefer a holistic health approach, including natural, non-invasive, and safe methods. Although I am not a nutritionist, I often emphasize the connection between nutrition and mental health. I explore the whole person and look for underlying causes to help manage mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, mood disorders, and executive dysfunction disorders. Furthermore, I emphasize the importance of having a positive attitude and suggest supportive protocols that may include regular exercise, balanced nutrition, mindful eating, and nutritional support.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Get ready for a heart-to-heart during our first session? I aim to understanding your emotional and mental well-being. Picture a cozy, judgement-free and supportive environment where you can freely share your experiences, symptoms of concerns, and challenges you're facing.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
