What is your typical process for working with clients?

We start with a comprehensive first visit, where you and your provider will discuss your goals, medical history, and what brings you to treatment. From there, you’ll work with your provider to create a care plan that feels right for you, which may include medication, therapy, or both. If your provider recommends medication, they’ll walk you through your options—our goal is always to help you make informed choices about your care. You’ll meet with your provider regularly for follow-up visits to check in, adjust your care as needed, and make sure you feel supported in your journey.

Dr. Mateo kept cutting me off when I would try to answer a question. It didn't feel like she was listening to what I was saying. Her bedside manner seemed dismissive and flippant, especially given the intense, triggering subject matter of past traumas. She focused on non-issues and left most of the actual reasons I came to see her by the wayside. We ran out of time before addressing half the reasons I booked the appointment (partially because she kept cutting me off). Ultimately, she wasn't able to move forward with care due to legal psychiatric stipulations--not her fault. However, she recommended treatment that I had already tried to express have not worked for me in the past. I say "tried to express" because she kept cutting me off. Felt like a waste of both of our time and certainly my money. Left the appointment even more disillusioned with the healthcare system. Would not recommend if you're seeking efficient, compassionate care.
