About Sara Scalia
Sara Petro, MS, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant who brings her expertise and dedication to dermatology to our Clifton, New Jersey office at MDCS Dermatology. Sara's passion for dermatology emerged during her time at the Rutgers University–New Brunswick Physician Assistant Program, where she earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Following graduation, she began practicing dermatology, previously working with Dermatology Associates of Central NJ, where she honed her skills in medical and cosmetic dermatology.
Sara's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience from Northeastern University in Boston. Her commitment to dermatology was strengthened through hands-on experience gained during dermatology and surgical rotations at Rutgers, which provided her with a strong foundation in treating a wide range of skin conditions. Sara is dedicated to delivering compassionate and patient-centered dermatologic care to each of her patients.

Sara is great. My 1st visit was a body check. Had 2 biopsies done by Sara. She made me feel relaxed and at ease. I made another appointment to get Sara’s opinion on my spider veins. Sara steered me in the right direction. I told my sister and daughter all about my wonderful experience.

Sara is the best provider I've ever seen. Her attention to detail and professionalism really put me at ease. Some providers treat you like their 100th patient of the day and just to check a box-but not Sara. She truly cares about her patients and wants them to feel super comfortable with her. I cannot recommend Sara enough!
