Dr. Sarah Bruce is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in autism and neurodevelopmental disabilities. She has worked with autistic individuals across the lifespan since 2002. Dr. Bruce earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Palo Alto University and completed her doctoral program at the PGSP-Stanford Psy.D. Consortium, receiving advanced training in autism treatment and assessment at Stanford University School of Medicine, Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She also holds a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Palo Alto University and a Bachelor’s from California State University, Northridge. Her doctoral internship was at Asian Americans for Community Involvement. Afterward, she completed a post-doctoral fellowship at The Help Group and UCLA’s Semel Institute. In addition to her work at Spectrum Psych LA, Dr. Bruce serves as an attending psychologist at the UCLA PEERS® Clinic. Her clinical interests include the intersection of autistic and LGBTQIA+ identities, complex presentations such as autism with ADHD, mood, anxiety, and eating disorders, and family therapy for families impacted by autism. Her affirming, flexible, strengths-based approach meets clients where they are, tailoring therapy to their strengths and interests and helping develop practical strategies to overcome obstacles. Dr. Bruce advocates for neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ communities through public speaking, her role in the CAN Coalition at the Los Angeles LGBT Center, and volunteer work. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing with her family and two cats, exploring the Los Angeles food scene, and taking walks. She is happy to be back in Los Angeles after six years in the San Francisco Bay Area for graduate school.
