I found Sarah on Zocdoc and was excited for my appointment after reading all the positive reviews. As an athlete, I’ve struggled with nutrition and mental health, and I was hoping for guidance on my diet. Instead, I felt judged for everything I was doing “wrong,” despite explaining that eating at all was a challenge due to my medication and depression. It seemed like Sarah was more focused on mentioning her books than listening to my unique situation. The session turned into a weight loss consultation, though I never asked to lose weight. Sarah may be great for those needing structured diets, but if you're looking for kindness and understanding, I’d look elsewhere.

Sarah Mirkin's food coaching changed my life. A few years ago my IBS/ stomach issues began to constantly flair up. I had so much discomfort that I went to several GI docs. They all told me I had IBS but didn't help me. Then I found Sarah. She referred me to the right GI doc and put me on the low FODMAP diet. At first the FODMAP diet seemed impossible and out of reach. Sarah guided me through everything. Looking back, those sessions with Sarah changed my life. Fast forward to now, I know what foods to eat, what not to eat and what to order or substitute at a restaurant. I also keep my packets of fodzyme in my purse and have no problem sharing what they are with a group dinner. If you're struggling with stomach issues you need Sarah to figure out your unique triggers so you can live your life without having to worry about your stomach all of the time. I did and now I'm 90% symptom free.
Sarah's a lifesaver & helped guide me to understanding my gut issues & learning to adapt without long-term sacrifices. I found Sarah when I was battling my second bout of SIBO, feeling frustrated & hopeless. I was so anxious, pouring through research & feeling like I couldn't mend my gut with no clear answers or sustainable remedy in sight. Sarah assured me she'd help me get better & listened to my concerns, medical history, & what wasn't working for me. She was able to give me a blueprint and guide me through my SIBO eradication through elimination FODMAP dieting to learn what my trigger foods were, educate me on what substitute foods I could reach for & answered all my questions through the process. Once I was finished with FODMAP reintro I felt empowered knowing what food types were triggers for me, and with Sarah's help which enzymes I could take to help me still eat those food groups without strong symptoms - for SIBO prevention and generally feeling normal again. I learned so much! I'm so grateful for Dr. Mirkin's help! I've struggled with stomach problems my entire life. I saw several GI docs but none helped me. I was so frustrated. I never thought I could get better. I can honestly say that with Sarah's help I'm 90% better. She has been a godsend! I went from looking 9 months pregnant every day to a flat stomach. I feel better than I ever have in my life! She walked me through the low FODMAP diet and provided so many resources that it was much easier than I expected. It's so nice to be able to eat again with out fear.
My visit with Dr. Mirkin was great! I always thought that my diet was very healthy and I couldn't understand why I wasn't losing weight with all the exercise I do. I Really didn't think anyone would be able to help me. Dr Mirkin helps me to realize even though my diet was healthy I was eating too much of some healthy foods that were causing me to gain weight, i wasn't balancing my meals properly, and my exercise was all wrong. We've had a few visits since the first visit and the weight seems to be falling off! She describes her method as efficient and effective weight loss for long-term results. I have to say I am proof that this is true!
Sarah is a lifesaver! I was suffering with severe constipation and bloating for years. I went to a handful of doctors but they all just said I had IBS and I should eat more fiber. They said take probiotics and Metamucil but nothing helped. Sarah told me that I should stay away from both and had me test for SIBO. Turns out that was it! Sarah Mirkin has been amazing! I'm so happy I found her. Before Sarah I was eating a lot of sugar! I didn't really care about my health, only calories and the scale. I also hated to exercise.
