“As a patient, I understand that no therapy is better than bad therapy. My experience has been superfluous. I have reached a level of equanimity which I used to think was impossible. Sareen treated me as a unique individual and tailored the therapy accordingly. Therapy is not one size fits all and it is vastly important for the therapist to understand and connect per patient, she did just that. She is understanding, kind and patient. She is also highly attuned with where I was at versus trying to push towards a goal or direction I could not yet see. I am beyond thankful and would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone seeking therapy. She is also very skilled dealing with a wide array of issues depression, anxiety, substance use etc.. If you are seeking a therapist seek no further. ”

Getting to know Sareen Khodabakhsh

For over a decade, I have been helping families, couples, and individuals gain greater insight into maladaptive behaviors stemming from attachment styles and traumas. These behaviors often manifest as compulsive disorders, addictions, unhealthy relationships, and more. It is a passion of mine to help my clients better understand themselves, build strong core values and self-worth, and make healthier choices. I hold a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Oaks College and a Bachelor's degree from California State University, Northridge, which have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support my clients effectively.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My style of therapy is very direct, as I do not wish to waste your time and money. My clients come to me for guidance, direction and new perspective, and that is what I provide. All my clients will feel empowered and grounded with the guidance that I provide in sessions.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I always ask my new clients to provide me with a written summary of the first ten years of their lives. This gives me insight into childhood attachments and traumas that form a foundation for current behaviors and inner discord that clients may have. Together we explore how the past influences current circumstances, and find solutions to move forward with healthier choices.

I went to Sareen for my post partum depression and I truly don’t know where I would be without her. She pulled me out of the darkest, hardest phase in my life. She provided support, guidance and sometimes the tough love I needed to achieve my goal of being a happy new mommy. I honestly don’t know how I would have survived the first few months of motherhood without her. Not only is she an excellent therapist, she’s also extremely professional. It was very easy to schedule appointments with her and easy to get into contact with her if need be. She offered the flexibility I needed as a new mom who had very limited time for herself. I never felt rushed during our sessions and always felt that 100% of her attention was on me and what I had to say. I cannot recommend Sareen enough!
She is an amazing therapist, and person. She is very intelligent, kind, empathetic,. I love her and I'm so grateful for giving the opportunity to be blessed to meet her to know her and to be her patient.
Sareen is one of the best therapists I have worked with in my lifetime. She creates a safe space to process vulnerable feelings and share uncomfortable traumas. I've learned a great deal about myself, feel better about myself through therapy, and have healthier relationships in my life because of the work I've done with Sareen. I am grateful to have her by my side to help guide me in making better decisions. She has a very direct approach, which has helped me feel very grounded and goal oriented. I am a different person because of the work I've done, and my life has changed for the better as a result.
I've worked with Sareen for the past 6 months, and it has changed my perspective on a lot of things. I've learned a lot about addiction, and have a greater understanding of my traumas. My work has helped me feel better about myself, and that has made huge changes in my personal and work life. I love working with Sareen, it's something I look forward to every week.
When Sareen informed me that she was opening her own practice I knew she would impact so many lives in a positive way. Sareen has a certain skill set that will rival anyone in the field of mental health. She is filled with so much knowledge, empathy and passion to go above and beyond for the clients. Choosing Sareen as your therapist will be the greatest decision you ever make.
