In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, considering both physical and behavioral health needs? My role is to listen and provide solutions that empower patients to be their best selves. This could involve lifestyle changes, medications, or therapy—both physical and emotional/behavioral.
What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider? The ability to facilitate positive changes in patients who trust me with their care. Watching patients improve physically and mentally is the best part of being a provider. I also enjoy educating patients on healthy lifestyle changes and their disease processes, as education optimizes care and encourages patient involvement in their healthcare plan.
Tell us a little about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time? I love spending time with my daughter, our Sheltie Tedde, and cat Shadow. I enjoy traveling and have visited Amsterdam, London, Paris, Barcelona, Dubai, and many Caribbean islands. I love learning about different cultures and trying new foods. The beach is my favorite place to relax and restore. I read 1-2 books monthly—from self-help to sci-fi depending on my mood. I also enjoy roller skating for exercise and work out 2-3 times per week.
