Dr Jayanty completed his training in Internal Medicine, as well as his Fellowship in Gastroenterology, at the University of Louisville.
He began practicing in Houston in 1983 at Memorial City Hospital (where he continues to practice to this day). Much of his practice consists of diagnosis and treatment of colitis, cancer, biliary and pancreatic diseases in adolescents and adults, but he cares for many other ailments pertaining to the stomach, gallbladder, colon, small intestine, and liver.
The doctor is also very involved in education of young doctors. His association with both the Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Texas has provided invaluable guidance to the next generation of gastroenterological professionals.
Dr. Jayanty is constantly looking for new breakthroughs in his field. To that end, he performs research and clinical trials at the state-of-the-art endoscopy suite contained in his offices.
The doctor believes strongly in second opinions, and if there are any doubts concerning your diagnosis, he will be more than willing to refer you to another physician.
The doctor is a “people person” and enjoys listening to and interacting with his patients. He is interested in both your medical and your personal history, since these two factors seem to be intertwined in most cases. Dr. Jayanty believes that communication with patients improves his ability to understand their medical problems and to be a successful practitioner.
Dr. Jayanty’s father and sister are also physicians, and he is proud to continue in this family tradition of helping people to heal.
Married for over thirty-two years to his lovely wife Teresa, they have six children.
In his spare time, the doctor enjoys tennis, long distance bicycling and is an avid reader.
He would welcome you as a patient and looks forward to providing you with the best in medical care. …
