About Dr. Scott Floyd
Scott Floyd, DPM, is a board-qualified podiatrist and wound care specialist at Academy Foot & Ankle Specialists in the DFW metroplex, Texas. Dr. Floyd specializes in diabetic wound care and ulcer care. He has comprehensive training in all aspects of podiatry, including elective and non-elective foot surgery. After graduating from Houston Baptist University, in Houston, Texas, with a Bachelor of Science in biology, Dr. Floyd earned his medical degree at Kent State University College of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He later continued his training with a three-year medical and surgical residency with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Salem, Virginia. Since finishing his residency, Dr. Floyd has trained extensively in complex foot trauma, lower extremity sports medicine, and lower extremity diabetic surgical correction. In addition to his education and training, Dr. Floyd received advanced training and treated patients at the Foot and Ankle Clinic of the Virginias. He also worked in the orthopedic surgical department at the Salem VA Medical Center in Salem, Virginia, where he focused on surgical and nonsurgical foot care. Dr. Floyd is extremely passionate about providing the best possible individualized care to his patients. When he is not working with patients, Dr. Floyd enjoys spending time with his family, frequently participating in church activities.

I was warmly welcomed at the intake desk. I was taken back after finishing the new patient paperwork; the doctor came in within a few minutes. He was friendly and asked specific questions concerning my pain. He took notes and explained our next steps.

I would go back I plan to go back. I thought they were great staff of people. The doctor. Floyd was really nice. He was very approachable. But the one thing that I did not like was the fact that when this there insurance verification process

Too bad. I wasn't informed about the Medical Grade Inserts can't be returned.
On the opposite I was forced to buy. The nurse told me that I must buy in this very moment and besides I told her it seems a little big, she in a hurry way, said that is ok.
The Medical Grade Inserts don't fix in my shoes, and I come back to the office, and the receptionist told me it couldn't returned the medical grades insert.
If I want, I can't donate it. She said that!
I didn't receive the instruction that it couldn't be returned there isn't an add indicating it.
And I didn't receive any advice how to solve my problem.
I won't ever come back to this office.

Dr. Floyd, was amazing. My 17-year- old was able to communicate to the doctor very easily and not be interrupted. The doctor listened to him, gave him a couple of diagnoses, but ended up taking a sample that he would send off to make sure what he was saying was accurate. Dr. Floyd is super kind , and very knowledgeable about feet. Would definitely recommend him to others

It was a positive experience for a first visit. The staff was friendly, but didn’t get my online paperwork for some reason. Could have been my fault.
Dr. was awesome. He explained why I had pain and scraped a callus off of the ball of my foot which gave immediate relief. I did buy shoe inserts and cream not covered by insurance.
So far the pain is lessened, but not totally gone. I have a follow up in 2 weeks.
