What should a new client know about working with you?

1. A Collaborative, Human-First Partnership You are the expert on your lived experience. I bring psychiatric expertise and clinical tools, but we make decisions together. We will discuss the risks, benefits, and rationale behind every recommendation so you always feel in control of your care. No rigid or dismissive care. Mental health is not one-size-fits-all. We look at your whole picture—sleep, lifestyle, work/academic demands, sensory needs, and personal goals—not just a checklist of symptoms. 2. Specialized & Affirming Focus Neurodivergent-Affirming: Whether you have an existing ADHD diagnosis or are exploring executive dysfunction for the first time, our sessions are structured to accommodate how your brain works. No shame around unread emails, lost focus, or burnout. LGBTQ+ & Gender-Affirming: Grounded Growth is an explicitly safe, affirming space for queer, trans, non-binary, and gender-expansive clients. Your identity is respected and validated as a foundational part of who you are. 3. What Our First Intake Session Looks Like (60 Minutes) Getting to Know You: We’ll review your medical and mental health history, current stressors, past medication experiences, and what you hope to achieve. Comprehensive Assessment: We will explore mood, focus, anxiety, sleep, and physical health considerations to ensure an accurate clinical baseline. Building Your Care Plan: By the end of our first visit, we will outline a clear plan forward—whether that includes initiating or adjusting medication, ordering lab work, incorporating therapeutic strategies, or coordinating with your therapist. 4. Follow-Up Care & Medication Management (30 Minutes) Fine-Tuning: Early on, we may meet every 2 to 4 weeks to monitor how you’re feeling, manage any side effects, and fine-tune dosages. Maintenance: Once you feel stable and grounded on your plan, follow-ups are typically scheduled every 1 to 3 months depending on clinical needs and medication parameters.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

At Grounded Growth Psychiatric Care, working together is a collaborative, human-first partnership centered entirely around your goals. We start by sitting down to explore what’s going on in your life—your history, daily routines, academic or career demands, and what you want out of care—so every step we take is tailored to you. From there, we work together to build a personalized treatment plan, whether that includes starting or adjusting medication, incorporating lifestyle strategies, or coordinating with your therapist. Throughout our time together, we continuously check in, adjust as your needs evolve, and make sure you always feel supported, heard, and completely in control of your mental health journey..
