When I estab­lish this trust, treat­ing the patient becomes a col­lab­o­ra­tive effort rather than me telling them what they need to do. Under­stand­ing the treat­ment makes com­pli­ance much greater, and results fol­low. Trust often is built over time, but when it is achieved, pos­i­tive out­comes occur.
