Getting to know Dr. Sebastian Zimmermann

I engage my patients in a collaborative fashion to clarify their goals, increase their productivity, and enhance their overall sense of well-being. I specialize in Attention Deficit Disorder, depression, anxiety, and their wide variety of overlapping symptoms. When working with my clients, we focus on identifying the underlying causes of poor motivation, low energy, or "brain fog," whether due to underlying depression, diffuse or performance anxiety, or difficulty sustaining attention. I offer genetic testing to determine which medications are most likely to work for these conditions. In psychotherapy, I tend to work with creative individuals who feel they have not yet met their potential. We focus on changing self-sabotaging core beliefs, analyzing unconscious conflicts, and interpreting dreams as they occur. I earned my medical degree from Freie Universität Berlin Medizinische Fachbereich and completed my residency in General Psychiatry as well as a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Medical Center. I am bilingual in English and German. While I am not participating in managed care, my staff is often successful in securing out-of-network insurance benefits for my clients.

I have only had one session with Dr. Zimmerman, but he was very courteous and seemed very knowledgable about the specifics medicines and conditions relating to anxiety. I intend to see him regularly now as a therapist given this first appointment's outcome.
My initial visit was short due to a time crunch on my part, but I have already booked another appointment to see him again. In the short time I spoke with him, I found him to be really helpful and sympathetic to my needs. I look forward to our next more in depth appointment.
