With over 6 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in mental health practice, I specialize in medication management for children, adults, and LGBTQIA+ individuals. I have the expertise to work with diverse populations, accurately diagnose mental health conditions, and craft personalized treatment regimens tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
I hold a Master’s degree in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Maryville University Public Safety and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University ABSN - Las Vegas. These educational experiences have strengthened my clinical skills and deepened my understanding of psychiatric care.

I can’t even begin to describe how refreshing it was to find a mental health provider like her! It’s hard nowadays to find someone that takes Medicaid. it’s even harder to find a provider that listens intentionally & has clinical experience/knowledge about mental health/medication management. What’s even cooler is she also to get to know me as a person. My mental health has been touch & go for the last decade. it hasn’t helped the providers I’ve seen in the past did not invest time in understanding my struggles (as well as my victories). But She did just that. You can tell that she does this work because it is her calling & it is her purpose. Anyone who goes to her office for help is guaranteed to get it. The world we live in is stressful & it’s such a relief to walk into her office & be heard, understood & validated by someone who is qualified, trustworthy and disarming. I was SO pleased with our first appointment that I even referred three separate friends to her. Book an apt today!

I’ve had the worst panic attacks and nothing seemed to help, as soon as Shamim Namakula came on and talked to me I felt worlds better. She made me feel like everything will be okay and prescribed me something that will help and gave me great tips on how to handle my attacks. We talked for a while and it only made me feel better. 10/10 recommend to anyone, super sweet and comforting, really felt listened too!
