About Dr. Shana Anton
Dr. Shana Anton is a family medicine physician serving the St. Petersburg community for BayCare Medical Group. She is passionate about preventive care and assisting patients of all ages in achieving their healthy lifestyle goals; she also has a special interest in working with patients to manage chronic conditions such as diabetes and asthma. She aims to work with her patients and empower them in their health decisions. When necessary, she will also provide referrals for conditions that require the expertise of another specialist. Dr. Anton is also interested in procedures such as skin biopsies, Nexplanon ® and IUD insertions/removals, and joint injections.
Dr. Anton completed her undergraduate degree at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia and then earned her Doctor of Medicine from Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in Miami, Florida. She continued her medical education by completing a family medicine residency at Tidelands Health MUSC. Additionally, she is certified in basic life support,
advanced cardiac life support, and pediatric advanced life support and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

I have been hesitant to find a new PCP because of the horror stories I hear from people not being listened to when they have pain or concerns. Dr. Anton took her time to hear out my list and provided valuable insight and suggestions to help out before our follow-up. Plus a referral to a facility for something I wasn't sure I would be able to get help with. Even though this wound up being a telehealth visit, I am really delighted to find a doctor I feel comfortable talking to and that is ready to help me tackle my health issues and get to the root of things.

My appointment was for a new patient consultation. I was greeted immediately upon entering the office. Check in only took minutes because I had done the pre check in on line. After being weighed and my vitals taken I only waited a couple of minutes to see Dr. Anton. She was so easy to talk with. She asked lots of questions and answered all of mine. I don't think I've ever had such a thorough meeting with a doctor, ever. All of my labs were ordered and my follow up appointment made before I left the office. I highly recommend Dr. Anton and her staff at Bay Care Medical Group on 4th Street , St. Pete.
