Shana Guy, MPH, RD

Dietitian
MI
"Shana’s interest in nutrition started as child as she was known for her love of food. She was keenly aware the importance of nutrition from a young age as she was a competitive gymnast through college. Through her studies she was instantly fascinated by the complexities of nutritional science and decided to further her career studies to become credentialed as a registered dietitian. Shana works with patients from neonates to adults with a variety of nutritional concerns including some very medically complex patients. She understands the importance of nutritional care throughout the lifecycle. Shana believes that quality nutritional care should be easily accessible so that patients have the ability take ownership of their health goals. Shana works to provide patients the information, tools and resources needed to make long-term term sustainable changes. Highlighting some of the nutritional concerns she has experience include prediabetes, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, weight gain and weight loss, food allergies and intolerances, picky eating behaviors, hearth health, and enteral and parenteral nutrition. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley followed by a Master’s degree in Public Health Nutrition from New York University. She completed her dietetic internship at UCSF Health. She also holds a Board Certification as a Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition. "
