About Dr. Shane Mctague
Shane McTague is from a small town in southwest Chicagoland. Growing up he was active in a wide range of sports and also in his community. He honed a collaborative spirit as the middle child of three boys.
He attended Aurora University where he was a member of the NACC conference champion cross country team. He later attended The University of Iowa studying Human Physiology and was the Executive Director of the RiverRun 5K, an organization supporting those with disabilities find housing and employment.
His passion for physical medicine stems from his time in the PT office following a hip surgery he had at 16 years old. He wanted to pursue a career that focused on helping others while incorporating his active lifestyle. He was introduced to Chiropractic medicine when he was injured as a collegiate athlete. This introduction led him to Palmer College of Chiropractic where he earned his Doctoral degree while specializing in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), or Mckenzie Therapy. While at Palmer he served as the President of the Sports Chiropractic Club where he taught a range of rehabilitation principles to his peers. MDT is regarded in scientific literature as one of the best methods of assessment and treatment for musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions.
Throughout his doctoral training, Dr. McTague distinguished himself by being selected twice for participation in the esteemed rotation programs at the Veteran Affairs Healthcare Systems in Chillicothe, Ohio, and Tuscaloosa, Alabama. At the VA, Dr. McTague contributed to an integrative care team, collaborating with specialists in Pain Management (PMNR), Neurology, Physical Therapy, and Occupational Therapy.
Outside of the clinic you can find Dr. McTague running around town training for his next race, walking his dog Arizona, at a local concert, or on the couch at home enjoying a movie.

Prior to consulting Shane, my ankle/foot was incredibly sore and troubling to even put weight on. Soon after seeing Shane, I was able to gain more mobility and the pain began to reside within a few days . I attribute my recovery largely in part to Shane’s diligence and care. I will definitely be going back if I have any problems in the future.

Didn't have to wait long at all, the Doc was energized and willing to hear me out and give me all the support I could ask for from any kind of doctor, and overall had a real positive attitude and I'm excited to go back!

I really like the treatment that Dr. McTague gave me. There was a mix of adjustments and PT. He was very friendly, and I felt he really explained everything well so I I understood the process and why we were doing certain exercises.

Dr. McTague was very thorough during my exam. He was patient answering all of my questions! He made sure I understood everything and he took the time to make sure I was doing my exercise appropriately.

I have been struggling with some lower back pain on and off for years after certain workouts at the gym. Dr. Shane McTague was not only able to help me with my back pain but he was also very knowledgeable. He answered all my questions and explained things in an easy digestible manner.

Dr. McTague is a great physician who listens and helps you take control of your health. He is very well versed in exercises especially McKenzie exercises as well as in chiropractic adjusting. Dr. McTague was is able to answer any questions you have and helps explain your health in ways that make sense. When he did not know the answer, he is honest and works to find an answer. I highly recommend Dr. McTague to anyone looking for an honest and reliable chiropractor.
