About Dr. Shanika Mccray
Dr. McCray is a podiatric surgeon with a focused background in diabetic wound care and a passion for advancing lower extremity limb preservation.
She earned her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University in Philadelphia and went on to complete her residency at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and affiliated hospitals in New York City. Following residency, Dr. McCray pursued a dedicated fellowship in wound care at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, where she honed her expertise in managing complex foot wounds and diabetic limb salvage.
With a strong foundation in clinical medicine and surgical techniques, Dr. McCray combines her technical skillset with a compassionate approach to patient care. She credits her upbringing in a medically underserved community as the driving force behind her commitment to making a difference in patients’ lives. They didn't take my insurance even though it said they did take the insurance. When you put your insurance in, and it shows these providers and doctors that accept your insurance but make sure to call your provider on your insurance card first to schedule an appointment with that specific doctor that does take your insurance. Because it's not very specific on zoc doc if they accept your insurance or not.

I had such a great experience with this podiatrist. She was extremely attentive and made sure I felt comfortable throughout my entire visit. The procedure was quick, and she made sure I didn’t feel any pain at all while removing part of my toenail. She also took the time to explain everything clearly and taught me exactly how to take care of the area afterward. I left feeling informed, cared for, and so relieved. I highly recommend her to anyone needing foot or toenail care!
