About Shanna Acord
Shanna Acord, MPAS, PA-C is a nationally certified physician assistant. She grew up in Logan, UT where she then attended and graduated magna cum laude from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science in 2014. She continued her education at UT Health San Antonio and completed the Master of Physician Assistant Studies program in 2018. Shanna is a Diplomate Fellow member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA).
Shanna has been trained in adult, pediatric and cosmetic dermatology. She enjoys providing cosmetic injections such as Botox® and Dysport® as well as hyaluronic acid filler injections. Shanna is passionate about providing the best care to her patients and giving back to her community.
When she's not working, Shanna enjoys spending time with her family. She currently resides in North Salt Lake with her husband and two beautiful daughters. In her free time, she loves hiking, skiing, and exploring the great outdoors. Her commitment to both her patients and her community make Shanna an exceptional and highly respected member of the medical community.

She just didn't explain a lot. She listened and then gave me a skincare routine.
As someone new to skincare and acne treatments I needed a bit more information that I didn't realize I needed until I left (for example: can I use tretoin on my back, is there products -my skin has reacted twice now to a product I used on top of it - I'm not supposed to use with it? Can I use other products in my skincare routine? And when?).
The assistant was really nice though and I really liked her.

Very professional, in and out. I didn't feel rushed, and she left ample room and time for questions. She didn't communicate too clearly exactly what was going on with my issue or why she was recommending the treatment plan she did, but I did feel listened to and I felt comfortable asking for the additional details I wanted.

Great office and staff were friendly however wait time was long - actual consultation was 45mins after appointment start time. Did not receive a thorough treatment. 50% of assessment was blazed over in less than 30 seconds.

Shanna is fantastic! She never makes me feel rushed and always asks what else I need so I always get all of my concerns taken care of. I was early to my appointment...theh checked me in early, I was seen right away and was out of the clinic super fast. Zocdoc is easy to use and book with.

This was my first time seeing a dermatologist and I really had no clue what to expect but she was absolutely wonderful. It turns out I needed to see an allergist anyway, but she took the time to explain my skin and what she thought was going on, as well as noting they could refer me to doctors they recommend. Our appointment was very short (I didn't have other concerns) but she asked if I wanted to review or chat through anything else while I was already there, which I appreciated. Likely won't be back unless a concern pops up, but she'll be the first doctor I think of if I need anything (and I've already referred one friend over!).

Most awkward beside manner I've ever experienced. Shanna immediately suggested Accutane when I expressed concern about ingrown hairs on my face from shaving. It was clear she didn't read my chart or intake notes - I have IBD and don't know anyone with IBD who would risk Accutane. It felt like a lazy recommendation instead of discussing shaving habits and OTC products, creams, etc. She had her arms crossed, rushed my skin exam, and just wasn't friendly or clear on her recommendations. The nurse who took me into the room was cold and unwelcoming.
The front desk was organized but when I handed my insurance card to them, the receptionist said "No no, I don't need that. I need your credit card or other form of payment." It lists in big bold letters on both patient intake forms to hand your insurance card with the forms to the receptionist when complete.
Would not recommend Shanna or this practice to anyone.
