Shanna is a licensed and board-certified nurse practitioner providing treatment across the lifespan. Her journey includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a Psychiatry minor from Western Connecticut State University and a Master of Science in Nursing at Simmons University in Boston. Her clinical background as a nurse stems from women’s care, which includes OB/gyn, labor & delivery, postpartum & the neonatal intensive care unit. Working in these fields motivated her to become certified in perinatal mental health and to pursue a postmaster certification in psychiatry as a soon to be dual-certified provider (PMHNP/FNP). She has experience as a nurse practitioner in psychiatry and a passionate focus on helping people mentally become the best they can be.
Her dual specialization gives her an approach rooted in the belief that physical and mental health are intertwined. She believes in a holistic patient-centered approach to clinical care, considering all aspects of life such as sleep, nutrition, activity level, physical health, therapy and spirituality. Her goals are to work collaboratively with patients, built on the idea that “being your best self” requires a transparent collaborative partnership. She believes in meeting patients where they are, providing a supportive space that honors individuality while maintaining the highest clinical standards.
In her free time, Shanna enjoys spending time with her family and being outside in nature. She enjoys snowboarding, surfing, hiking, art, reading, yoga and aerial arts and is always looking for the next fun thing to try.
