Getting to know Shannon Anes

I provide telehealth psychiatric care to Veterans, adults, and the geriatric population throughout North Carolina. My practice integrates medication management with supportive psychotherapy to develop personalized, evidence-based treatment plans. These plans are designed to effectively manage symptoms while promoting long-term emotional wellness and resilience. My approach is compassionate, inclusive, and goal-oriented, with a focus on building a collaborative therapeutic relationship tailored to each patient’s unique needs.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I understand that seeking help can feel overwhelming. I strive to create a judgment-free, supportive environment where you feel seen, heard, and understood. My goal is to help you take small, meaningful steps toward healing, focus, and emotional wellness, with compassionate guidance every step of the way.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During your first appointment, I conduct a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. This includes a detailed review of your current symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, medications, lifestyle factors, and any previous treatments. I also explore your goals for care so we can develop a personalized treatment plan together. Subsequent sessions typically last 30- 60 minutes and combine medication management with supportive psychotherapy. We will review how you’re responding to treatment, discuss any side effects, adjust medications as needed, and explore thoughts, emotions, and coping strategies through talk therapy. My approach is collaborative and goal-oriented, with an emphasis on small, meaningful steps toward improved focus, emotional wellness, and resilience. All sessions are conducted via telehealth in a confidential, judgment-free environment.
